Coal is China’s most important energy resource, accounting for 95% of all fossil fuel reserves in the country. Coal accounts for more than 60% of the primary energy consumption structure. Coal-fired boilers generate steam or become hot water by converting the heat of coal, but not all of the heat is effectively converted, and some reactive power is consumed, so there are efficiency problems. Generally, larger boilers are more efficient 60% ~ 80%.

The boiler is mainly composed of two parts: “pot” and “furnace”. “Pot” refers to a pressure vessel filled with water and sealed, and a convection circulating tube bundle is connected to the drum to increase the heat exchange capacity. Its function is to directly absorb the heat released by the fuel and transfer it to the water. The pot can be divided into vertical, horizontal, single pot and double pot. The “furnace” is composed of a grate and a flue tube bundle, etc., to fully burn coal, and allows the heat emitted by the fuel to fully exchange heat with the water in the drum. The above two parts can be assembled into a whole to form different types of boilers.

Because the drum is a closed pressure vessel (regardless of hot water or steam boiler) and operates at high temperature and pressure, it is dangerous. Various factors such as improper operation and outdated equipment will cause major accidents, affecting the shutdown of the factory or the impact of domestic heating. Serious accidents can also cause serious consequences such as property damage and personal injury. Only by strictly implementing the rules and regulations from the aspects of boiler manufacturing, reasonable design, meticulous construction, and correct operation and maintenance management, can the boiler be operated safely.
